Last year we spent a fun afternoon baking apple pies with dear friends (pictures here). Repeating our success naturally sounded good.
While Geoff sliced apples I’d peeled, Laura rolled dough. And in the garage Tim built a clothes-hanging apparatus (with two women living here, we need more space to hang those non-dryerables).
and also the pies,
we enjoyed dinner, a movie from the video wall, and restful company. (They took home half a pie, while we kept these — gluten free crust on the right.)

I have a friend who was recently diagnosed as gluten-intolerant –do you have any good recommendations for recipes and other resources?

[forgive me if this posts twice--didn't seem to go through at first...]
It was just one of those types of days, wasn’t it? An apple day. I made applesauce instead of pie, having done the pie thing earlier.
Yours look wonderful! Glad you had some good relaxing company-fun.
Fresca, I’ll get you some info. This pie crust, from a mix, came out wonderfully. Think I’ll go get another piece…
Cherie, thanks and, you said it. Do you make much applesauce? My mom does tons, adding just enough cinnamon; ooh, it’s good.
I do make several quarts to enjoy all winter long.
So, you got Logan’s tv, huh. I wondered if someone would snag it. It’d be nice if you’d post pictures of your new giant adopted child. hint hint
Enjoy!
I ought to do some of that canning stuff, Cherie. Sigh. Yes, Logan’s TV is our new baby giant. I’m sure it’ll make it into a photo before long. :o)
