it found me, and it killed me

What 17-year-old could resist this? I couldn’t.

Yes, we had guys in tight pants back then. Looong hair, too. Just a little twang. And they repented, maybe too late, but they did. Sigh.

hmmmmm, not a lot of pant action available here. it’s hard to say… but then, i’m a long way from 17.

I just figured this would scare you, Angela, but I hear from my daughter that indie music guys now wear tight pants, anyway. Shoulda known, seeing how things come around again…(And aren’t you only a tiny bit beyond 17? :o))

This made me so nostalgic. I am not a big music person, but I listened to the radio incessantly in high school. I certainly remember this song. And, oh golly gee, and the hair!

(What do you mean, “they repented”?

I love this song. I never saw the video before. Wow, sometimes what you imagine, and the reality are way different. :)

Wow – great blast from the past! I found it somewhat amusing to note the juxtaposition between the words of the song and his demeanor – “I go crazy…” and he’s so controlled and calm, it’s really difficult to believe. And he sorta made me think of Mike as he was back then. Fun anyway!

It’s fun I’m not the only one nostalgic over this, and slightly weirded out. In fact, Jodi, I was laughing so hard over the difference between my imagination and the reality when I saw this the other day that I had to post it.

Fresca, it’s his lyrics, “I realize that I was blind.”…Oh, that always got me, same as “Getting over you was slow.” Give me a man who recognizes in any way his total missing-the-pointedness and who manages to come back and express his broken heart over me, and I’m hooked for life…

Anna, I know, somehow that demeanor is endearing…why? Probably only uptight white people like me get that… Yes, sorta like Mike, except, I can mainly only remember him and the other youth group guys (besides Doug) in their 70s garb and demeanor – you’ve seen more of them more recently. I think we all grew older somewhere in there…
