Things are going, well, the way they’re supposed to, undoubtedly. I’m grateful for happy birthdays Tim and I enjoyed earlier this month. (One reason we got married is our birthdays are ten days apart, so we’ll never forget each other’s.) The next event will be our 30th anniversary in July. What do we plan for that, you ask. I don’t know, I answer. But it’s a nice, round number.
That reminds me, Tim commented just yesterday that if we’d have stayed in our first home in South Carolina, we’d both be rounder now, because I would’ve worked at Krispy Kreme a lot longer.
One thing we did that first married year was drive to Savannah, Georgia to see the first Star Trek movie. Last week we saw the latest Star Trek. I guess my opinion on both counts is they practiced pretty well both movie-making attempts. I enjoyed each of them, but I wasn’t greatly wowed. This latest one doesn’t have enough action…and by that I mean inner-ly, in a Star Trek fashion. Sure, that would mean some over-drama and such, but this one was almost too low-key on everyone’s part for me. Where’s the drive to save everybody and everything, no matter how dorky you look? I missed that. I mean, in the middle Tim was predicting how they’d go and fix things, and I was beating his arm as I do when he’s spoiling it for me, but they didn’t find a twisty, dorky way to save the whales or anything and that’s what we both missed.
They did save the Star Trek franchise, I’m sure, and I’m not saying I won’t watch another of the movies in this new enterprise, so to speak.
Out in the sun the other day, I practiced taking pictures with my camera’s macro do-watchy thing. I was happy it worked, and I haven’t remembered how I did it since then. But here’s how the peony bush looked, practicing another year’s perfection.

Good point: I mourn that lack of dorkiness!
Gonna go Trek-ing tomorrow. And my peonies are doing their thing, too. Such noble, bold things aren’t they?!
Happy Birthday, again! To you AND Tim! Hope you were pampered on Your Day.
Fresca, you said a lot much better about the movie. But overall, yeah, I think everyone had to be too cool.
Cherie, I’ll be interested to hear your Trek thoughts. I’m sure you’re having fun. Thanks for the wishes!
