love this little place
I pause at the friendly url where my name shines. My blog…no, I haven’t forgotten you; my home page…yes, I wish to put up new quotes and tidy your edges and simply hang out. Summer, however, is full of bright light, more than a few spiders darting from corners (shiver), and many happenings. Plus, my … Continue reading

there are days (at least, one has come along)…
…when I sit, blinking at my screen, catching up on blog posts adorned by spring and fall, crafting and healing. And then I wander under the amazing brightness of our solar tube, then out through the back door into sunniness, remembering, yes, it’s WARM. Ahh.

state of the blog
Nearly three years ago I started blogging. I’m not done, but I feel differently about it, by far, than I did the day I first typed a sentence into the little window on MySpace. Back then I wanted exposure as a writer. Maybe as a person, too. I don’t suppose I minded the thought of … Continue reading

p’raps I should explain
Here’s what I’m doing. Well, first, a while ago I was posting pictures and brief tales from my trip with Tim to Germany and France. I plan to do more of that. I do. Then this past week I said I’d post every day in November to go along with NaBloPoMo. I’m really going along … Continue reading

narratively
Seen any blog posts this year that tell a story? Have you heard a vibrant voice or two? Creative Nonfiction, a journal and foundation dedicated to promoting, yes, creative nonfiction, will publish another of their best-of books next year, and they’d like nominations from blogs. Read about it at the Brevity blog. Then provide them … Continue reading

what a blogger wants
I wasn’t sure for a long time why I did this. My second reaction to blogging, after my daughter set up my account, was that it looked like writerly fun. (My first reaction had been, “Journaling online, how sad”.) Later I waffled. Doing posts took energy I might be wasting in the long run. I … Continue reading
